Lora Lee Ecobelli is an actress, writer, teacher and the artistic director of Blue Horse Repertory Company. Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional credits include: A Christmas Carol, A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Trojan Woman, Antigone, Hamlet, The Cherry Orchard, Blithe Spirit, The Three Sisters and The Seagull. Lora Lee is the winner of the Harold Clurman award for best actress for her performance in The Vise. She has also enjoyed many roles in film and television and is the member of several improv groups.
As a writer, her plays have been produced throughout the United States. Several are published by Art Age Publications and Smith and Krause. She is also the author of several screenplays most notable the feature film “Chickadee,” co-written with her brother Tom Ecobelli. “Chickadee” is now in preproduction and will star Oscar and Emmy winning actors Chris Cooper, Julie Kavner and Raoul Bova.
Lora Lee and her brother Tom are also the authors of a popular Italian American cookbook: “Laurina’s Kitchen”
published by Square Circle Press.
Lora Lee is also the Artistic Director of the Blue Horse Repertory Company. A new and innovative professional theatre company in the Hudson Valley. A collaborative ensemble of diverse theatre artists dedicated to the development of new works, the performance of classics and educational and outreach programs.
